"We think this is a beautiful time to bring neighbors together from across different backgrounds and celebrate what unites us and also what makes us unique," Mustafa said.

On top of live music, arts and crafts, and immigrants who shared their stories on stage, other local organizations that work to support immigrants and refugees set up booths.

One was Refugee Women Rising, which showed traditions some might not be familiar with, and spoke with attendees about their needs as an organization. For one, volunteers help with the transportation needs of refugees.

"A lot of women, if they don't have their license and don't have a car, they are incredibly isolated," said Pam Font-Gabel. "That's really going to affect them, their wellness."
