Transportation equity is necessary for a healthy community.

When a woman receives her driver’s license, she deepens her independence and creates avenues for the livelihood of her family to improve. We understand that women learn best from each other and RWR's unique approach to reinvestment marries workforce development with sustainable skills.

As a result, our driver’s education program is a combination of training by and with community experts followed by practical driver’s education with state-certified driving instructors. We facilitate education on:

• Seat belt safety

• Police interaction

• Car seat installation

RWR offers accessible programming to help empower refugee and immigrant community members learn to drive. Once female students complete the safety education and behind-the-wheel training, they can be eligible to take their driver’s license test.  When a student passes, she receives a certificate, a AAA car safety kit and a gasoline gift card.
